Why should I opt out of LinkedIn AI training ?
Starting from November 2024 LinkedIn will use personal data of users to train their AI models according to a statement. This means that you need to opt out of LinkedIn AI training if you don’t want your personal data to be used for the training of their AI model.
Their Privacy Policy has been updated as a result, and currently, users outside of the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, will have their personal data used in training for generative A.I.
As you use LinkedIn you may be asked if LinkedIn and their affiliates can use personal data AND content you create on LinkedIn to train generative AI models that create content.
This is a very concerning use-case because it may be indicative of future LinkedIn AI products that will eat away in a potential source of livelihood, in the form of content creators. So, if you are involved in this line of work, you may want to reconsider their policies and also opt out of LinkedIn AI training models with your personal data.

If you want to opt out and you are a citizen of the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom you will most likely get a message that the LinkedIn AI training with your personal data has not been rolled out for your region. This looks like this:
How do I know that LinkedIn has responded to my request?
Once you have toggled off the Data for Generative AI Improvement” setting, this should be reflected in the LinkedIn systems. However, you may be prompted again by LinkedIn to opt back in to this, so be careful on the various prompts that will be shown to you, as you continue to use the platform.
How to delete your LinkedIn account and personal data?
