Official documentation from the company suggested the company will, from that moment, use files, messages and data from Slack Workspaces to train its inbuilt AI model. What then do you need to do in order to opt-out of Slack's AI training feature?

First, you need to inform your Slack workplace admin of your intention to stop the service from using your private data for AI training. As mentioned earlier, you cannot do this in isolation.

Your Slack Workspace Admin or owner of the organization you work for, will then write an email to Slack. The email must include the following information.

- Receiving Email Address: It must be addressed to feedback@slack.com. If it's not addressed to this email, the opt-out request will not be granted.

- Subject Line: The subject line of this AI Opt-Out email must be—”Slack Global Model opt-out request.”

- Email Body: The only thing you need to include in your email body are the following web address, in the same format: yourorgname.slack.com

For example, if your organization is called YOURDOMAIN, the body of your Slack AI opt-out email template should read:

YOURDOMAIN.slack.com.

Does this mean Slack no longer has my personal data?

No, following the steps above is only guaranteed to stop Slack from sharing your personal data with AI third-party companies for training, it doesn't mean the service no longer has your personal data.
